Parent article: Realtime group scheduling doesn't know JACK

As far as I'm aware, Ubuntu 10.10 is unaffected by this issue, i e JACK can successfully have RT privileges (assuming user or package maintainer has tweaked /etc/security/limits.d/audio.conf or similar).

The issue came up when testing the development version of Ubuntu, 11.04, which is to be released in April 2011.

That's correct. Lively discussion is going on as well on the Ubunsustudio-devel mailinglist, and here is the Launchpad bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/690010

OK, I may have blown that part; I took the information from Paul Davis's initial description of the problem. I didn't have a 10.10 system handy to check directly; I guess I should have maybe set one up quickly. Sorry for any confusion.

That's the risk behind "release often, release early", and I consider that's what comments are for. That's why we think ourselves as a community!

Keep up the good work Jon, I like it this way.
