Still no Galaxy S support. Sigh.

Also, the development process for Galaxies is very opaque. There are no good HOWTOs on building the kernel and initramfs, most development is done in private brunches on GitHub - so I have no idea where to pull the code from.

I guess I need to speak to developers and write a HOWTO myself.

Also, I have a somewhat unique device - it's a Galaxy S Vibrant T959 but with power controller from I9000. So my phone can't use any official firmware (it reboots immediately when USB is plugged in). So I'm willing to spend time hacking the code, but I can't find good tutorials on project set up.

Looks like the HTC Glacier didn't make the cut either. I'm almost tempted to switch back to my dog-slow, memory-starved G1! Cyanogen makes phones sooo much nicer.

I've offered to help out but haven't found a task that fits my skill and free time. Guess they'll have to settle for a small donation.

Please do :-). I'm in the same boat, sitting here w/ nice hardware (Captivate) and crappy firmware, wanting to get involved but not knowing where to start.

Maybe you could get support for it into Linux mainline before Google/Samsung/etc do :) I'm sure freesmartphone.org folks would be very happy for you to do that.

Looking forward to CM adding Gingerbread support (Android 2.3) - which just came out today: http://android-developers.blogspot.com/2010/12/android-23...
