Actually, its not PS/2. Its the embedded controller (EC) in your laptop running a bunch of firmware and doing ACPI things. Your EC just so happens to be a bit touchy. In an effort to fix problems on another set of machines with EC's that are touchy in a different way, it broke a small set of other machines including yours. Its fixed in one of the 2.6.32 stable releases. You have touchy hardware, cope.
