Stable kernels 2.6.27.24 and 2.6.29.4

The 2.6.27.24 and 2.6.29.4 stable kernel updates are available. They include a fair number of fixes, some of which certainly appear to have security implications. 2.6.29.4 also has some additional user-space API support for labeled networking.

Is there something wrong with the '28 kernel? Unless my eyes have not been friendly to me (which is not uncommon), updates are going out for '27 & '29 (and soon '30 of course). '28 *seems* to have been (almost) abandoned. Have I missed some announcement to not use '28? I'm using Gentoo's TuxOnIce 28 and it's fine on my machines (that I can tell). '29 seems good on a Debian install I'm testing out, but...

Yes, the 2.6.28 kernel is no longer being updated (see http://lwn.net/Articles/331435/).
