OSPERT 2009 call for papers

Subject:  Workshop on Real-Time OSs (with explicit mention of Linux)

please consider posting a news story about the Call for Papers for the
OSPERT'09 workshop on Linux Weekly News. OSPERT'09 is co-located with
one of the premier academic real-time conferences (ECRTS'09) and some
of the most-applied work by the academic RT community will be
presented there.

This year's co-chair is Peter Zijlstra of Linux fame; this choice
represents an honest effort by the academic RT community to encourage
increased cooperation with practitioners and especially the Linux
community. I'm convinced academia can learn a lot from the "real-world
engineering challenges" encountered by the Linux community; similarly,
the Linux community could certainly profit from discussions with the
leading researchers in the field of real-time computing. This is
especially true given the on-going interest in integrating real-time
scheduling policies such as EDF in PREEMPT_RT and eventually mainline
Linux.

Please consider supporting cooperation and exchange of ideas between
the academic and Linux real-time communities by spreading the word.

Thanks,
Bjoern

> Research on innovative RTOS architectures and services is a hot topic.
> Developers of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) are faced with many
> challenges arising from two opposing needs: extreme optimisation of
