It's that time of year again. With the pending release of Mandriva Linux 2009.0, older versions of Mandriva Linux will no longer be supported. As of October 13 2008, Mandriva Linux 2007.1 will no longer be receiving security updates. Any users still using 2007.1 are encouraged to upgrade. As well, as of October 9 2008, Mandriva Linux 2008.0 will be moving to a basic maintenance mode and will no longer be receiving desktop-related updates. The full schedule of support is available on our web site: http://www.mandriva.com/en/mandriva-product-lifetime-policy Mandriva Linux 2008.1 will continue to receive desktop-related updates until April 15 2009. Please be aware that the product lifetime for our corporate products is much longer than that received by our desktop products. Corporate 3.0, MNF2, and Corporate Server 4.0 are still supported. Keep this information in mind as you plan migration strategies, etc. to ensure you are using an operating system receiving security and bugfix updates. Thank you. -- Vincent Danen @ http://linsec.ca/ To unsubscribe, send a email to sympa@mandrivalinux.org with this subject : unsubscribe security-announce _______________________________________________________ Want to buy your Pack or Services from Mandriva? The Strategy is clear then. Reconsideration of this should come
highly recommended as Microsoft is still, through back-door channels,
allowing brand-new PC hardware installations on the market featuring
Windows XP.
Also be informed about how the Desktop/Laptop Branch has time over time
PROMIS-ed Linux pre-installed offerings on the shelf but never
DELIVER-ed.
