Actually, this stuff does look like it's on the way to becoming "real." Ted Ts'o and Keith Packard (filesystem and X) were in the crowd, and both sounded interested in accepting this work, or something based on it, into the "real" versions of the software. The actual readahead program is supposed to be on the Moblin site soon -- so Fedora, Ubuntu and the rest can download and integrate it if they want to.
