Red Hat's fourth-quarter results

Red Hat, Inc. has announced its fourth-quarter results. The bottom line is that the company essentially broke even on $25.9 million in revenue. The release also notes that Red Hat has now sold 16,500 "Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS" subscriptions, and shipped 5,000 copies of the new enterprise workstation product.

Minor correction: it's Enterprise Linux AS, not Enterprise Server AS.
AS/ES/WS are the three flavors of the Enterprise Linux product.

Reading press releases for too long does that to me...words start swimming around and stop making sense...

Interesting: "broke even", but had $3M in "positive cash flows". This means they made that much money, but just stuck it in the bank, right?

Not that this helps investors, but it does show that they're earning more than they're spending, which is cool. And having $292M in cash, vs. 22.9M expenditures for the quarter (revenues - positive cash flows), means they have the cash to survive for more than three years at this rate with zero revenue.
