Seconded!  A classic fixed-width X font is what I like for coding as well.  And please, no
anti-aliasing on it!

I completely agree. I can't stand this Anti Aliasing craze.

You get a slightly better looking font by smoothing the edges (hiding the rasterization) with
the expense of crisp delineation between the background and foreground, and subpixel details
such as serifs descending into eyestrain-inducing smudges.

The "improved" example there makes me cringe.
