Whilst it is nice to make it easy for people to move from Windows to Linux, it is also important to have a better interface than Windows so that people have a motivation to move from Windows to Linux.

Looking for compatibility in minor applications like a calculator is taking the concept of user interface similarity to such extremes that people will gain no benefit in changing operating systems.
