How's the speed?

I remember a common setup for Plone being running behind a cache/proxy, even for smaller installations, due to page loads being so slow. Does anyone happen to know if improving speed was a priority in this release? I didn't see anything when skimming through the announcements.

We did put a fair amount of effort into making Plone 3 faster. Alexander Limi has some quick benchmarks on his website: http://limi.net/articles/some-preliminary-plone-3.0-bench... . For small installations it should not be necessary to use a caching proxy, although you may need to tune the cache sizes a bit to match your content.
