Intuit's QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Embraces Linux
The offering will enable the tens of thousands of growing companies that are passionate about using open source environments to take advantage of Intuit's award-winning mid-market system while maintaining the increased security, manageability and lower total cost of ownership of Linux. The decision to extend the offering beyond Windows, made at the QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions User Conference, is part of Intuit's effort to continue to meet the needs of more complex businesses."

Lack of Quickbooks support in Linux is often a deal breaker for many small "Mom + Pop" shops who run a string of workstations PCs and are considering alternatives to Microsoft Windows. If (and that's a big IF) Intuit finally sees the light of the world beyond Microsoft, even with a closed-source, binary-only accounting tool for Linux, then maybe this will drive Mom + Pop away from the dark side. Just maybe...

Doesn't need to be OSS, but just running natively under the platform would be fantastic.
