Sigh... Yet another journalist who doesn't understand that GPLed code IS copyrighted (or copylefted, if you will).
Linus has an open view (The West Australian)
Not only that, it's yet another journalist that thinks that Linus wrote the operating system known as Linux. ("...wrote an operating system and set it free..."). Linus wrote the last piece of an operating system already 95% complete, and was free because of the hard work and vision of others. He also coined the name. That's a lot different from writing an entire operating system and pioneering free software.And he misstates Linus' contribution, too
