TITLE: Linux Professional Institute creates voucher contest for LPIC-3
volunteers.
The Linux Professional Institute invites all Linux professionals to
participate in the creation of their enterprise level
LPIC-3 certification. The contest asks for IT professionals to complete
a Job Task Analysis survey which will assist in
the creation of a psychometrically-valid certification program.
The Job Task Analysis (JTA) survey asks participants to determine how
often a specific task is peformed as an IT professional (or
understanding of the same) and how important it is to know the specific
task or concept. The survey is open to anyone in a relevant senior
level profession or has knowledge of the tasks involved in this job role
(e.g. managers and project planners).
Volunteers who complete the entire LPIC 3 JTA will be randomly awarded
(1) of one hundred (100) LPIC-3 exam vouchers which will be redeemable
at any LPI exam lab at such events as LinuxWorld, IT360 and others. The
vouchers can NOT be used at
computer-based testing centres but can be transfered to other LPI
candidates and are valid until Dec 31, 2008. The eligibility period for
this draw ends on December 9th, 2006.
Survey participants should read the description of a Linux professional
that would be able to pass the LPIC-3 certification exams--Minimally
Qualified Candidate (MQC). The MQC description can be found at:
https://group.lpi.org/publicwiki/bin/view/Examdev/LPIC-3#...
The JTA survey is available at: https://www.lpi.org/caf/Xamdev/jta
Suvery participants will need to provide a LPI username and password.
This will enable LPI to track task list progress. In addition
participants may return later to complete the survey--there are 365
tasks in the survey. Participants can return at anytime until December
9, 2006 to complete the survey.
