But some manufacturers DO use FLOSS OSes. They're the ones we don't want to listen to DRM sirens just because media industry likes it and they can freely drm-ize their FLOSS product.

Don't be naïve, of course the media industry would require signing by a new key and revocation of the old one when the new firmware is applied in this case.
