Not sure why the legal system has to be so obscure that it requires "legal professionals" to understand it. Does the legal system serve us, or we it?

You may have a point, but unless the system changes, involving legal professionals in the legal review of licenses is a sensible thing to do.

You would hire a professional programmer to work with your source code, wouldn't you?
