rPath, the provider of the first platform for creating and maintaining Linux
software appliances, is pleased to make the following announcements:

*	Vindicia, Inc., a PCI service provider offering chargeback
management and payment logic services for digital merchants, will use
rPath's rBuilder and rPath Linux technology to provide the control and
capabilities required for Vindicia to quickly comply with industry
standards, including PCI audit requirements. "rPath provided the control
necessary to pass our PCI compliance audit," said Brett Thomas, Vindicia
CTO. "Absent their support, we would have had to develop additional
technology to provide the level of management and auditability required for
our infrastructure."
*	rPath is offering additional cash awards to winners of the VMware
Ultimate Virtual Appliance Challenge who use its rBuilder Online technology
to build a winning virtual appliance entry. In addition to VMware's prize
offerings, rPath will pay out up to $25,000 to the top three entries and
five best of category prizes. "This is a unique opportunity for developers
to showcase their skills, while experiencing the flexibility and control
that rBuilder provides," said Erik Troan, rPath founder and CTO. "This
challenge will show Linux developers how rBuilder can accelerate the
development, deployment and the ongoing maintenance of virtual appliances."

This is an exciting time for rPath as they have been named a finalist in the
LinuxWorld Product Excellence Awards for the Best Virtualization Solution
and Best Systems Management Tool. rPath is preparing to attend and exhibit
at LWE next week in Boston, booth #1101. If attending the event, please let
me know your general availability and I will gladly schedule a briefing with
you and the appropriate rPath execs.

Please refer to the full releases below for more details on both
announcements. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like
to speak with any of the parties involved. As always, I appreciate your
consideration.

Best,

Kristin W. Bear

rPath Provides Vindicia Complete Control Over Production System Software

rBuilder and rPath Linux allows Vindicia to quickly comply with required
industry standards

RALEIGH, NC (March 28, 2006) - rPath, provider of the first platform for
creating and maintaining Linux software appliances, today announced it
signed Vindicia, Inc. as an rBuilder and rPath Linux customer. Vindicia
provides chargeback management and payment logic services for digital
merchants.

"Due to our status as a Payment Card Industry (PCI) service provider, we
face a very high level of regulatory hurdles," said Brett Thomas, Vindicia
CTO. "Our previous solution lacked the level of control and capabilities
required prior to a critical PCI audit."

Using rBuilder, Vindicia can wrap applications with rPath Linux and related
open source components in a tightly integrated, high-performing manner.
rBuilder controls critical system updates and retains copies of all software
components, allowing Vindicia to quickly comply with required industry
standards, including PCI audit requirements.

"rPath provided the control necessary to pass our PCI compliance audit,"
said Thomas. "Absent their support, we would have had to develop additional
technology to provide the level of management and auditability required for
our infrastructure."

"As customers use more open source software, rBuilder allows them to control
the software required for their operating environment, assuring that systems
are built and updated according to exact specifications," said Erik Troan,
rPath founder and CTO. "rBuilder also provides version and tracking
capabilities that manage every software component change, allowing customers
to recreate a system's installed image from any point in its lifecycle."

rPath Offers Incentive Awards for Winners of the VMwareR Ultimate Virtual
Appliance Challenge

Company offers $25,000 in additional cash awards to developers who use
rBuilder Online to build winning virtual appliance entries

RALEIGH, NC (March 28, 2006) - rPath, provider of the first platform for
creating and maintaining Linux software appliances, today announced that it
will offer additional cash awards to winners of the VMwareR Ultimate Virtual
Appliance Challenge who use its rBuilder Online to build their virtual
appliance entry. VMware, a global leader in virtual infrastructure software
for industry-standard systems, created the original contest to invite
developers to put their skills to the test, go head-to-head with their
peers, and develop the best virtual appliance.

Winning appliances will be made available to the entire development
community while their authors will be rewarded with cash and recognition.
rPath saw this challenge as an ideal setting to encourage developers to
utilize the rBuilder solution. rBuilder Online is a free platform that
creates software appliances for installation on industry standard hardware
or for virtualized environments such as VMware virtual machines.

"This is a unique opportunity for developers to showcase their skills, while
experiencing the flexibility and control that rBuilder provides," said Erik
Troan, rPath founder and CTO. "This challenge will show Linux developers
how rBuilder can accelerate the development, deployment and the ongoing
maintenance of virtual appliances."

In addition to VMware's prize offerings, rPath will offer winning entries
that use rBuilder Online the following awards:

*         First Prize                           - $10,000

*         Second Prize                      - $ 5,000

* Five Best of Category Prizes- $ 1,000 each
