Dear Sirs, I have recently published (mmmm, 2 days ago :) ) a non-profit website that tries to promote the use of openoffice formats by placing a banner on websites and/or registering on the website for listing and linking the logo. This is inspired only because I know quite a lot of people using Openoffice but using MsOffice formats for general compatibility reasons even though you may be sometimes sharing documents with people with access to computers with Openoffice. I think it's a good idea to have a more proactive community of users willing to use more commonly the Openoffice format and that's why I am writing to you in the hope that you find this idea as good as I believe. In this case a small note on your mag would help much to try to develop the community. If you want to have a look of the site you'll find it on: http://www.iuseopenoffice.net I would like to thank in advance and please receive my compliments for your magazine. best regards, Alvaro Ruiz

Please, don't add to the confusion. If you mean the format, say so: OpenDocument.

If you want to promote use of the _format_ that OpenOffice.org uses, then don't say OpenOffice at all. That format has a name: OpenDocument. Use that name. Much of the confusion in Massachusetts stemmed from people thinking that Massachusetts was mandating the use of OpenOffice.org. They didn't; they are mandating the OpenDocument format, which is already supported by KOffice and many other programs that have nothing to do with OpenOffice.org.
Say "OpenDocument", not "OpenOffice", if you mean the FORMAT
Thanks for the tip. I've changed the term to be correct.Say "OpenDocument", not "OpenOffice", if you mean the FORMAT
If you have a better idea about how it show be explained on the website just give me a shout. You know, at the end of the day, I am a native spanish speaker and the text may be not clear enough.
