okay this is lightly off-topic. I use vim for small scripts and
kate/kwrite for larger ones. Never could get my teeth into emacs. If I
can access the big scripts via a windows box I prefer to use ultraedit.
This is ofcourse annoying. I would prefer to stay on the linux box. I use
UE for just one feature it provides a little panel on the side with all my
subs in an alpha-sorted list. Click on a sub and you are there. Does
anyone here know how I can achieve something like this in _any_ editor,
text or gui. Ultraedit is now the only thing I use my windows box for
apart from games.

taglist is a vim plugin for doing this. You'll have to juse gvim to make it useful (e.g. mouse actions) in my opinion though.
