Science -- Mandrake Linux as a conference server.
SOPAC is a regional organization mandated by sixteen Pacific Island
Countries to assist them in geoscience issues. SOPAC has established a
conference server using Mandrake Linux to provide the participants
seamless access to the local resources (folders, printers) as well as
to the Internet.

"The server using DHCP, Firewall and Squid provides a plug and play
environment for the participants' laptops. Especially when these
laptops use a wireless network card. The server also provides live
streaming of the conferences."

Mozilla browser to offer a "kiosk" type of turn-key Linux environment.

Of packagers and developers...
Do you know the difference between a 'packager' and a 'developer'?
The following article describes the importance, and distinctions, of
both groups:

URPMI, a feature sorely overlooked.
'genetix' makes the case that URPMI (the Mandrake utility that
simplifies software administration) is absolutely brilliant but not
publicized as well as it should be. Are you familiar with, and know how
to use URPMI?

Will Mandrake release 650Mb ISO's?
Although heavily discussed during the Beta testing cycle, many people
were surprised to discover that Mandrake Linux 9.0 was released for
700MB CDs. 'Anonymous' asks if MandrakeSoft will release 650MB ISO
images for people who cannot burn CDs of that size.
