Intel to stop using open source license (News.com)
Smith said that it does not want the "de-approval" of the license to be retroactive to past uses, as it does not want to force companies to re-license code. Intel's decision was praised by Martin Fink, the vice-president of HP's Linux division, who recently told ZDNet UK that the number of open source license needs to be reduced from the current figure of more than 50 to "something less than 10"."

Just to be clear, this request in no way reflects Intel's position(s) on Open Source. Just that internally they found they were using other licenses, and there were very few external parties using this one as well. Apparently, the request to de-list this particular license was made purely in the interest of fighting license proliferation. Intel to stop using open source license (News.com)
