thanks, I was also going to add that there are very logical sensible technical reasons why the current standards around /run /var /boot /usr /etc exist, it's not just to move the deck chairs around and bikeshed about the color of the filesystem. if this effort gains any traction it'll be a good opportunity to update the educational material, howtos, training guides, engineering rationale and not just the standard reference doc so that you have something to point new people to get them up to speed . there are new Linux developers and admins every day who've never heard of the FHS and may get lost trying to understand why things are the way they are, that it's not just personal preference and bloody-mindedness. It's also an opportunity to gather feedback from new and old developers and admins who may have differing opinions as to what priority compatibility with different parts of the standard and current practice should be, that feedback can also be incorporated, or at least provides an opportunity to test those howtos and training materials to get a shared understanding.
