Plan is to let "users" fix the broken (TBD) "standalone" Myrlin test suite. We should have one anyway cleanup of download-o-o (Lubos did a fresh mirror sync) Removal of anything "openSUSE-Aeon" (while we want to keep Aeon), "*Kubic*" ## openSUSE Tumbleweed (ana) openSUSE:Factory build fail stats: 46 failed 32 unresolvable ( last week: 50 failed, 17 unresolvable) ~803 requests accepted in the last week (data source: https://build.opensuse.org/projects/openSUSE:Factory/pulse) Most relevant updates accepted, in no particular order: Plasma 6.3.4 Linux Kernel Longterm Linux 6.12.21 Qt 6.9.0 Gtk4 4.18.4 QEMU 9.2.3 expat 2.7.1 GNU awk 5.3.2 libxml2 2.13.7 meson 1.7.1 btrfsprogs 6.14 php8 8.4.5 poppler 25.04.0 ghostscript 10.05.0 libtheora 1.2.0 Mozilla Firefox 137.0 Mozilla Thunderbird ESR 128.9.1 Firefox ESR 128.9.0 Chromium 135.0.7049.52 Blocked / on-going: GCC15 as default compiler https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/openSUSE:Factory:... fixes continue arriving Deprecation of PCRE in favour of PCRE2, see discussion and latest updates https://lists.opensuse.org/archives/list/factory@lists.op... 5 updates remaining: blender, deepin-file-manager, leafnode, qore, qemu https://etherpad.opensuse.org/p/pcre2 Removal of gnu-HPC builds https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1239982 DONE almost all packages are now updated and submitted to staging people still using the hpc macros should clean up the packages, they're not guaranteed to work Python setuptools update to 78.0 (staging C) blocked by new rpmlint error in ceph cmake 4.0, still not submitted but packages updated on-going ## Richard (Aeon+botmaster+tik) New Aeon website launched at aeondesktop.org (Thanks LCP!) botmaster had minor issues at the weekend after Build Service performance issues locked many pipelines. Addressed manually tik OCI deployment has been demoed to a team within SUSE with an eye of adoption in their product. Regardless, it's being considered for Aeon also to facilitate easier factory reset approaches. All known installer / sdbootutil issues have been fixed Aeon/Tumbleweed-with-systemd-boot updates currently blocked by kernel-* packages not being updated in the correct order alongside systemd-boot/udev. Attempted to contribute the change to our kernel team but radio silence so far. ## Max Leap 16 * The Leap and Backports project restructuing was done, the most of package are built in openSUSE:Backports:SLE-16.0, Leap specific, KMP, and any other particular pacakge are built in openSUSE:Leap:16.0(Controled by BuildFlags). The change has submit to openSUSE:Leap:16.0 only still. lkocman: the main reason is the need for usage of a Backports signing key, right? * There is a new build after the reconstruction, it has an known issue during zdup therefore the new build will not be published * KDE in Leap 16 broke down due to package removal in SLFO, packages need add to Leap, before this issue got fixed we won't have a successful product build. ## Guillaume - Arm Tumbleweed: * snapshot 20250407 skipped due to kde live and lxqt not installable. Should be fixed in next snapshot. * Ring1: ** liburing: fix for aarch64 is on the way to Factory ** mariadb fails in unit.conc_async test - https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1236823 Leap 16.0 dev: * See Leap 16 section above ## Doug * openSUSE Conference (26.06.25 to 28.06.25 at Z-Bau) * Registrations 52, Submissions 37 * Video team to prep equipment * Do we put oSC posters on universities in NUE, Erlangen? I'd love to see some new faces on workshops etc. * Tariff article published * Sent marketing material for event in Italy * Still trying to resolve funding hold ups, but looks like this is almost complete * GSoC * Received 35 submissions * Pinging some people about proposals that came in to see if they were interested in mentoring the project/s * Going through ranking process * Proposal Ranking Deadline (April 29) ## Dirk Not available ## Maintenance (Marcus, Robert) nothing to report chromium taken care of, xfce update in the work Lubos will reach out to chromium maintainers regarding potential inclusion in Leap 16.0 for Public Beta. Just to repeat from last time: Leap 16.0 will use the new maintenance model after the successful switch to git (with Factory), which should happen about a month after Leap 16.0 turns Beta. Adrian: confirmed that old-style workflow would not work anyway. Aim should be for a single workflow. Nathan / PH question for maintenance setup: Leap 16.0 - updateinfo support with product-composer Can we expect zypper patch working in Leap 16.0. I recall we've had discussions whether not to keep only the latest version of a package in the repo and similar. ## Wolfgang (Package Hub), Scott Bahling, Nathan Cutler Preparing Package Hub for SLES-16.0 to be available thru SCC (following new process on src.suse.de to add Package Hub product to SCC). gnome-software doesn't recognize SCC based repos as "listed" source for packages. So they do not show up. lkocman: will add Leap + Package HUB (once created) repos from SCC to gnome-software. ## Adrian - OBS Not available. Dominique: Adrian was asking about unsupported modules. lkocman: https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1239986 Max: once we switch to git, where do we find sources for 16.0 in gitea. The current Leap 16 packages already diverged from Factory. Will there be any branch in Pool organization? Adrian: It will be handled on package per package basis. So no need to worry about diverging. Max: there are some packages that are not in Factory (or never were). ## Bernhard - Slowroll April TW snapshot 20250402 gets released today DocB: Please wait for Plasma 6.3.4! Currently Plasma crashes on each file dialog = https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=501688 plasma 6.3.4 will be added via update repo. https://openqa.opensuse.org/group_overview/131 now auto-tests new DVD isos thanks to Felix ## Bernhard - reproducible builds sent https://lists.opensuse.org/archives/list/factory@lists.op... ## Adam - Git Workflow https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:OBS_to_Git migration is continuing. Preparing Factory Git project to allow for testing of automation. That was exactly one of gsoc topics ## Santiago - openQA Not available ## Sarah - s390x Not available ## Open Floor
