People will likely dismiss most of the rest of the irregularities and similar; they *shouldn't*, but they likely will.

If the candidates only got a tiny fraction of the votes, thus loosing anyway, then it is puzzling why the extra post-election changes were imposed at that precise time where internally the results would already be known ? That would be creating drama where none would be needed, if the candidates had clearly lost anyway. There would be no better repudiation of the candidate's platform than seeing it rejected by voters. If the changes would have had no impact on the current election results, the changes could have been put in place for the next election and avoided creating such a strong negative view from the outside.
