Then many, many people can keep using GTK4 applications, given that the toolkit will be EOL once GTK6 is released, and we haven't even started developing GTK5. Considering the time between new major versions, we're talking about an horizon of 15-20 years: I sincerely hope X11 will be gone even in the most conservative environments, by then. Or the "many, many people" that still use it will have retired.

This is a very generous "we" you're employing, here: who are you, and what have you recently contributed to the X11 support in GTK?
