Hi All,

We are very proud to announce the immediate availability of Parsix
GNU/Linux 4.0 code name Gloria.

Parsix 4.0 is our first release with GNOME 3 desktop environment. This
version synchronizes repository software packages with Debian testing
branch as of November 7, 2012 and uses Linux kernel version 3.2.28.

A lot of effort has been made to make this version as stable and as
pleasant as possible.

For more information and details regarding this version, please visit
the release notes page [1]. To download the ISO images, go to the home
page [2].

Happy Release!
Alan

Parsix used to be an Iranian-focused distribution, no? The name was coined from "Pars" and Unix, was it not?

Their website now doesn't show any affiliation with Iran of any kind. I wonder what happened...

From what I understand from http://web.archive.org/web/20050211062614/http://www.pars... and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parsix and http://distrowatch.com/?newsid=02319 it had some Persian-language supported in, but that's was it.

Parsix GNU/Linux 4.0 does not work

Should there not be some kind of checking to see if these releases are worth posting about before doing so? The 32-bit release fails to complete installation and the 64-bit one gives you a blank screen devoid of any menus after installation.
