It was definitely too complex to use even in small way for Krita's needs. Even when paying consultants to set up everything. And the implementation traject of CiviCRM for KDE e.V. has been dragging for many years now, with frequent changes of consultants.

CiviCRM is a bit of an odd beast, but definitely deserves the laurels. Perhaps the CRM bit is confusing to some, but it really isn't about web shops and customer tracking — the C stands for constituent, so it's more about better and easier management of NGOs, their members and users. It's modular, so it can be a lean machine or a complex kitchen sink of interrelated tools.

Yay for Alyssa. She was featured here (Bitfrost). Her blog is stunning. She isn't just doing "cool stuff" as free software, but writing about it in a way that others will be inspired to try themselves.

After all, what good is free software for if nobody makes use of that freedom?

Yay for Bradley. I had the honour of meeting him in person once at a Debian conf. Thank you!

I must admit I don't know much about CiviCRM, but I'll make sure to change that.
