I always appreciated his down-to-earth style of running things, and the fact that despite the enormous contributions he has made to the kernel during decades (networking only being one part of it), he's never been looking for the spotlight.

We've never been particularly close, but still this news comes as a great shock to me. I feel so incredibly sorry he has to go throug that ordeal. A stroke in the mid-forties is clearly not the kind of diagnosis anyone expects.

I sincerely hope that David can recover as quickly as possible and to the furthest extent possible. My warmest thoughts to him, his family and anyone close to him. May he have all the strength he needs.

Mon, 12 Oct 2020 14:53:05 +0000
