Not everybody thinks that encouraging more complicated %if-spaghetti in specs is a good thing. I would've much rather seen developments towards eliminating the need for the spaghetti, one way or the other.

As far as I knew, it inherits from the %_buildshell macro. But of course, you can specify the interpreter with the -p switch.

I do kind of wish "RFE: Add macro for specification of install shell path" (https://github.com/rpm-software-management/rpm/issues/646) had been taken care of. Even with "Bourne shell" being defined as the default, it seems odd to have /bin/sh hardcoded in multiple places.
