I wonder what's the reason for this? Is it an scalability thing? Or do the containers have a lot of interdependencies and versions must kept synchronised?

I deliberately split the articles in two so that people that do not know Prometheus can read the first one to have a good overview, and those who do can read the second one to have an update. Sounds like you should read the first article. :)

My thoughts exactly. I would recommend beginning every(*) product-specific article with a one-line description of said product.

(*) well, it can be skipped for thing like "Linux", I guess ;-)
