It'll be interesting to see what they do with this. Their immediate plans seem straightforward: <p><blockquote>We are joining OSDL, which helps define features needed to improve the reliability and scalability of Linux, to contribute together as NTT group companies in establishing Linux as the computing platform for telecom carrier IT systems.</blockquote> <p>When NTT talks about scalability, I think in terms of fractional millions to multiple millions of machines. I can't wait to stand in front of someone who's claiming that Linux won't scale...
