In case someone is wondering what happened to C++ template issue associated with LGPL v2.1, Nokia added a specific exception to the license. (One also wonders if the limitation of "5% of the total size of the Library" could be exceeded in future versions of QT).

Out of curiosity, are there any light-weight Qt-based desktop environments (not for mobile phones)? Say, something to KDE as XFCE is to GNOME.
