Hey, i'm sorry to break you the news, but ... to the Brazilian Gauchos it's really erva-mate!! We speak portuguese here, remember??

Now, that's a remembrance that spanish collides with portuguese, but they meet during pronouncement. (and i wonder if that word ever exists...) =)

I forgot totally that the Linux Convention was in Brazil.
Okay, flame me. It's seems caffeine boosts the testosterone level...=)

And it's really as strong in caffeine as black coffee, but (IMHO) the taste is much softer.

Besides that, the way it's done in the cuia makes it a warming beverage, good for the somewhat cold temperatures down in Rio Grande do Sul (as compared to the rest of Brasil :).

Just a few things (non linux-related).
Sometimes, foreigners tend to name things as they listen to them.
Let me enlighten you =)

It's not called "erva-mate". It's called "yerba mate", pronounced as "yehr-bah mah-teh". It's a beverage that it's drinked in southamerican countries, mainly associated with the argentinian "gaucho".

That beverage contains caffeine in a very delicate dose, but enough to boost some long night of programming.
