Random idea: I feel like AI could help write these articles, especially since a lot of the hard work has been done in creating LKSD. Thoughts?

Some 6.9 development statistics

Why should I read something nobody could be bothered to write? I find the idea insulting.

The value of these articles is not in just being a prose form of the statistics, but in the context and research into why the numbers are this way our editor brings by being involved in kernel development. An LLM does not have access to that. To say that an article could be written by one is to say that the author is adding nothing of value.

I never suggested to let a LLM write the entire article.

And I certainly did not suggest that our editor adds nothing of value. Clearly I wouldn’t be on LWN if I thought so.

I was merely saying that LLMs could perhaps help in the writing process. I am sorry you find this suggestion “insulting”, I did not mean to hurt your feelings.
