Would the location, Toronto, Canada, have any relation to a potential settlement or business deal with Ottowa, Canada-based Xandros, with whom they are litigating? Or is it not strange for a San Diego-based company to open its first retail store so far away and in a different country?

Firstly, it's Ottawa.

Sub500.com has, by their own admission, been in business since 1988. This is not a new development except that, I suppose, they are treating Linspire as the canonical operating system for their systems.

"Firstly, it's Ottawa."

Hmm...from the press release: "The store is located at 2930 Dufferin Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada."

Err, no, that was my indignant reply to the original poster's comment of "Xandros, located in Ottowa." :)
