The currently announced end of manufacture date for the STMicroelectronics STM32MP1 processors (at least the dual core Cortex A7 variant STM32MP157DAA1) is 2036 - so these will be going into embedded systems for a while longer.

The future of 32-bit Linux

There are indeed new Cortex-A7 based SoCs running Linux coming out all the time, including some on modern process nodes down to 5nm (e.g. Qualcomm SDX65), so my prediction about
it ending with 28nm availability was clearly wrong, though those particular chips probably don't have a 10+ year product life.

NXP has extended product longevity for parts of its i.MX6 (Cortex-A9) family up to 20 years ending in 2035, and Microchip recently announced their SAMA7G54 (Cortex-A7) that may live even longer.

On the other hand, some products had their availability cut by the semiconductor shortage: I had listed QorIQ P3-Series EOL for 2025, but now the entire 32-bit QorIQ family has gone out of production.
