Resurrecting DWF

Agreed. The problem is twofold:

1) GitHub is insanely great and the cost is, well, free.
2) Josh and I don't have the time to run this properly if we build it from scratch, so a mashup app on GitHub basically won
3) GitHub also solves the identity and Federation problem, most everyone in OpenSource has a GitHub ID

I lied, threefold. To replace GitHub poses massive problems in cost (more in time than money), time lost to building it and not just doing DWF, and lastly identity management. Anyways this is being tracked long term in:
