GTK 4.0

Amazing news!

I think this is an interesting time to be a desktop toolkit. For simple apps it's now practical to use HTML5 for the UI -- either with Electron / nw.js, or rolling your own thing with a WebKitWebView or similar -- and this has the advantage that you can serve the same UI as a browser app.

At the same time, GTK 4.0 has added a bunch of nice things for making simple apps, such as the new lazy listmodel, and combined with Flatpak and Flathub the story for native app developers is better than ever.

It'll be interesting to see how things play out. Either way it will hopefully lead to more great apps available for Linux desktop OSes.
