An rsync with sane defaults would be appreciated

Parent article: Deprecating scp

If this somehow lead to scp becoming an rsync with sane defaults, it would be a godsend.

What's sane depends on beholder of course, but I would really appreciate if the default was to make the destination file and inode identical to the source rather than just copying contents. The definition of "identical" becomes blurry when the two systems aren't identical, but currently alternative of muscle memory now making me type "rsync -axADHX" every time is worse.

The other thing that would be nice is to make relative destinations be relative the current direction on the source, rather than home directory on the server.
