Plasma 5.20 released [LWN.net]

Version 5.20 of the Plasma KDE desktop is out. "A massive release, containing improvements to dozens of components, widgets, and the desktop behavior in general. Everyday utilities and tools, such as the Panels, Task Manager, Notifications and System Settings, have all been overhauled to make them more usable, efficient, and friendlier." There are also significant improvements in Plasma's Wayland support.

Despite the over-enthusiastic language in the announcement, it seems like a maintenance release with many small improvements, except a bigger step for Wayland. This is good news (to me as a Plasma user) seeing the solid product being fine-tuned as it is already very usable in GNU/Linux distributions today.

Mwah, tjere were some real behavioral changes, well beyond the previous few releases. Esp in the task manager but the desktop itself as well, and kwin has been improved a lot recently too. I am quite happy with it!

If only they would figure out how to make activities useful for non-techies...

I agree, there are some nice improvements. On the minus side, they broke dead keys... again!
