Linux is used in core systems by Google, Facebook, Amazon, IBM and other huge companies. It's business-critical for them.

Redis? Not so much. It's used in a lot of small and mid-range companies, and it's not a good place to be.

FreeBSD suffers from the same issues - it's not used a lot, so it's moving at fraction of Linux's speed.
