Parent article: A look at terminal emulators, part 1

I was using ROXTerm for ages as it had drag and drop of tabs between Windows which is a nice way to sort the different tasks i am working on. Another plus was font size handling. I am always switching font sizes depending on the amount of visibility needed. Mails in 24pt - C++ in 9pt .. gnome-terminal got this all wrong only switching font-size in one of the tabs so switching tabs would either resize the window or resize columns/rows. ROXTerm got this all right and worked like a charm.

Sadly it has been removed from Debian as IIRC a gnome3/vte incompatibility led the Author to stop working on it.

I had a couple of days trying to get used to gnome-terminal when i moved to Stretch and it still was a PITA. So i had a look and settled with sakura. Font size handling is perfect - its lacking drag and drop - the only feature i am missing.

I can second that. Another feature I found particularly useful was customisable profiles.
