Here is another take on the legislation:

It is another interesting view on the issues, but I am always a bit wary of arguments of the type:
Britain has had laws very similar to those required by the directive for some years now and I do not see police raiding the homes of file sharers on a regular basis..

It is no gurantee that institutions won't behave otherwise at some future time.
