Kernel release status

The current development kernel is 4.10-rc2, released on January 1. This prepatch contains only 27 patches merged since 4.10-rc1 was released on December 25.

Stable updates: none have been released since December 15. The 4.9.1, 4.8.16 and 4.4.40 stable updates are in the review process as of this writing; they can be expected on or after January 6.
