The number of characters typed as part of this thread, from a non-insignificant number of people, is significantly larger than the 187 characters of changelog and 3 removed lines of spec file required to 'resolve' this matter and no longer install the non_oss pattern in openSUSE by default.

Heck, this post, pointing this out, is also longer than the actual change required

If we talked less and did more, where would openSUSE be by 2018?

Clearly, analysing and fixing bugs in human thinking is harder and more time consuming than analysing and fixing bugs in computer processing. Is anyone surprised?

I don't think I've ever worked with or for a company in which the management, marketing, sales and support employees didn't exceed the number of actual developers, usually by a significant factor. Creating the product is only a small part of what it takes to make a project a success.

Engineers outnumber support staff where I work. Something like 4:1 by a gut feeling, maybe 3:1. Then again, lots of the managers also write (useful) code and we're smaller than lots of the name brand software shops (a little over 100 employees).
