I've been seeing quite a few reviews of Xandros recently. So much so that I decided to try it
out on my office desktop. I'm an instructor at a small technical school that is very Windows-
centric, but I had been using RH 8 + Win4Lin to get things done. However, my RH install
was getting harder to manage and keep up to date and I had played with apt-get and dpkg
enough to decide that they were pretty handy.

I ordered Xandros 2.0 Deluxe. It installed very nicely, Crossover Office runs my two
Windows-only apps (one of which is IE 6) and so far I'm a very happy camper.

My one observation, however, is that Xandros seems to be squarely aimed at the non-geek
desktop user. It doesn't "feel" as tweakable as other distros I've tried, though I realize that
it's relatively easy to pop the hood and turn it back into Debian.

All in all, though I would recommend it to recovering Windows users with very few
reservations.
