Mandrake in the News
----------------------------------------
OSnews.com -- Mandrake Linux 10 Preview.
OSnews takes an early look at the Mandrake Linux 10.0 Preview Edition:

OfB.biz -- Shuttle's SB62G2 Tops Our Linux System List.
The 'Open for Business' website posts a first review of the Shuttle
SB62G2 XPC "Barebone PC" -- an impressive PC cube that ships with
Mandrake Linux 9.2:
"the XPC packs all of the latest features you'll probably want and need.
The SB62G2 XPC supports a full range of current Intel Celeron and
Pentium 4 processors including the 3.2 GHz and the 3.0 GHz "Extreme
Edition" models, both of which take advantage of the system's 800 MHz
front side bus (for a more humble budget, the same XPC can go as low as
the Celeron 1.8 GHz CPU). The system also includes RAID support, not
one, but two, network cards, six USB 2.0 ports (two on the front), AGP
8x, PC3200 memory and Serial ATA. Let there be no doubt: this is a
serious system."

LinuxElectrons.com -- Mandrake Linux 9.2 review.
For anyone still not using Mandrake 9.2, linuxelectrons.com hosts an
informative review of the latest release (plus many screenshots):
"Mandrake Linux is a superior choice for a Desktop User. Its available
online (free), and a budget conscious version is available (CD's for
$40.00). My laptop was supported and it worked out of the box. Any
other disto needs to compare itself first to Mandrake 9.2 before making
any claims. Mandrake Linux has already found itself on my laptop."

'BizCase' of the Week
----------------------------------------
"We 'fixed' Exchange with Mandrake."
What can be done to help an ailing MS-Exchange email server? This system
administrator uses a Mandrake/Postfix server as the front-end SMTP
server and hides the Exchange server behind the firewall:
"The Exchange server then receives its mail from the Mandrake box. That
way, whenever the Exchange server packs it in [goes down], the mail is
still received and queued, waiting for us to fix the Exchange server
again. The Mandrake box holds onto it until we're ready -- no more
rejected mail."

* kernel -- fixes local root vulnerability
* drakxtools -- fixes drakbackup's daemon behavior.
* proftpd -- fixes remote root vulnerability
