Which is why this is hard -- sexism is embedded in all kinds of habits and received wisdoms and standard cultural tropes that we all absorb without thinking about it, so that basically all of us act as one of those bullies sometimes without thinking about it. There's this fantasy that the solution to sexism is to identify the people who are sexist and then kick them out, but it's a fantasy that actively prevents actual progress. Solving this problem requires difficult contemplation and acknowledging that we'll screw up and trying to do better anyway.
