Right, you may do some accounting of how much entropy you have or whether the data you have added is 'good'. In that case, you had better be sure of the quality of what you're putting in before labelling it 'good'. However, it remains true (despite, IMHO, what djb wrote) that if you add an additional source of entropy and don't let it affect the accounting of 'good enough', it can at worst do nothing.
