Isn't https://www.ohloh.net/ the new Freshmeat?

I never used Ohloh, always Freshmeat. But last year I realized that Ohloh (which I believe has been around for quite awhile) really seemed to come into its own, and I figured it was only a matter of time before Freshmeat died. Certainly the change in name to Freecode hinted that the site had become mostly irrelevant for the younger generation.

Still doesn't seem to do the thing that I used freshmeat for mostly - skimming it regularly for interesting release announcements. Though I seem to be in a minority and it sounds like most people used it first and foremost as a database.

It's not quite the same as what Freshmeat used to provide as there isn't the same curation of meta-data. Having said that when I have found a potentially interesting project which I'm thinking of using the Ohloh stats give me a much better sense of the health and diversity of the project which is arguably more useful data.
